Nick, this whole line of thinking is deeply flawed. You cannot take a 8th century BCE Hebraic text and press it into a post 1st century CE mold. The text does not need interpretaton, Is. 53 does not exist in a vacuum, it's part of the Servant Songs which begin around chapter 41 and conclue in chapter 54. The Servant is ALWAYS Israel. Period. End of story.
