Prophecy by Genealogy?

Depending on who you talk to, so-called “prophecies” about Jesus range in number from a mere handful to over 300. And the higher the number, the less and less scholarly these so-called “prophecies” become.

One ministry’s website I looked at offered the following as a prophecy about Jesus:

Prophecy:

“I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:3).

Fulfillment:

“And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.’ When God raised up…
