At the end of the day, the only thing that matters to God is the intellectual understanding of who we are in relation to our creator. Period. And the tool that bridges that gap is, of course, Jesus.

Not sure exactly what you mean by this? The prophet said, "Be still and know GOD." not merely know about GOD. I think there is too much Church and not enough GOD in people if they are still worshipping Jesus and thinking the Roman Catholic Church inerantly assembled the Bible.
