MASSIVE logical fallacy in play here. When the proverb says to trust in GOD, it does not mean trust in the Church. The two, GOD and the Christian Church, are not synonymous, in fact, they are not even compatible. The Church attempts to insert itself into this equation with all manner of tenets of belief GOD never once intended.

Sure, trust in GOD, but do not put your faith in anything the Church teaches.
