I really like your understandings of the gospel texts, Frank. However, I also think it was much more insidious on the part of the Catholics to create their own versions of the Gospels that allowed them to insert their Hellenized pagan Paul into the Jesus narrative, literally overwriting Jesus with a rebranding of Mithras.
