EVERY pastor is a puppet to whomever is signing their paycheck. Period. End of story. Sometimes it's the board; sometimes it's the local conference, union, or even the denomination's own general (global) conference. But EVERY pastor must toe the party line or they get fired, that includes lying about the Bible, lying about the Church's history, or lying about whatever it takes not to rock the boat with whomever holds the strings to the money. The ONLY option is to either keep lying or quit. Most choose the money.
