5 Ways the Church Bullies You into Believing Its Lies
Have you ever been sitting in church or reading an article where the pastor or author starts to defend their beliefs using psychobabble?
Psychobabble is essentially nonsensical logical fallacies that sound oh so spiritual, but in reality are just that—illogical nonsense.
Consider the quote from the below author (who shall remained unnamed) and their views about how they justify their positions about faith. To preface their rationalizations, it doesn’t really matter what point of doctrine, dogma, or other “belief” they are (or were) attempting to apologize (prove) because this lack of reasoning has been used the world over to bully people into believing whatever:
“Some people who do not have the mind of Christ, that is, are not spiritual, obviously will not understand the gospel; “for the word of the Cross is foolishness to those who are lost, but to us who are saved it is the power of GOD.” And the Christian who is not Christ-minded has difficulty understanding.”
This quote is the epitome of Christian Gaslighting, the ungodly attempt to bully you with nonsense in an effort to convince you that if you don’t agree with their points of doctrine, dogma, or belief, YOU are the one who is insane and not them.
