Brynn, I'm not really seeing your side of this story very well. I have a lot of MAGA friends and while a lot of them are homophobic to be sure because of their Christian faith, MAGA folks are Patriots first, and that includes LGBTQ+. I also have a lot of gay MAGA friends.
Maybe you don't see it in more Conservative places like Ohio, but in other major cities, being gay or trans doesn't matter to the MAGA crowd. It just doesn't. Not that I've seen.
The fact is Trump is pro-gay-rights. He's a New York Liberal but a fiscal Conservative. He really should be running under the Libertarian ticket.
As far as gerrymandering goes, BOTH parties have participated in this sham for literally centuries now. Blaming the Pubs for something the Dems do as well is called being hypocritical. Both parties have cheated their asses off to win. Neither is pure as the wind driven snow.
It's true that Christian MAGA folks are in the majority and given a chance, sure they will attempt to unravel as much of gay rights as they can, but fortunately, this is America, we are a REPUBLIC of Laws founded on the Constitution and that document has protected not only people of color but also the LGBTQ+ community as well. We are winning the war.
In fact, I just wrote a piece about this. GOD is on our side, that is the side of kind, caring, giving, and truly loving people.
